About Trinity

+Visitors

Greetings!

We look forward to serving you. Trinity Assembly has a variety of cultures, ages, interests, and backgrounds, with the common purpose to bring Jesus praise here in western Prince George's county.
Whether you are young or mature, single or married, social or studious, we have a place for you. It might be in drinking coffee in one of our many life groups. It might be in singing melody in one of our choirs. It may be in shaking a neighbors hand at one of our many community outreach events. Or, it might be in whispering a silent prayer during one of our church services.

Whatever it is, our goal is to help people reach their potential in Christ and we can hardly wait for you to join us in this mission.

So if you're in the area and are looking for a home church, consider joining us at one of our Wednesday or Sunday services. You'll be glad you came!!!

Pastor Tino

+Mission

We are committed:

   1. To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world
   2. To be a corporate body in which people may worship God
   3. To be a channel of God's purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His son

+Values

These are some of the principle things we value:

   1. The local church is the hope of the world
   2. People matter to God.
   3. Honor God and God will honor you.

  • In the Deity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death as a sacrifice for our sins, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to heaven at God’s right hand, in His return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years.
  • In the Blessed Hope - the rapture of the church at Christ’s coming.
  • Cleansing from sin comes only through Jesus Christ.(Video HI | Video LO | Audio Only ! Web)
  • In Divine Healing (Video HI | Video LO | AudioWord document of scriptures on healing
  • The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.         (Video HI | Video LO | Audio ! PowerPoint ! sheet)
  • In The Second Coming of Christ, with the Resurrection of both the saved and lost, the one to eternity with God and the other to everlasting separation from God.                                      (Video HI | Video LO | Audio Only)

+History

Trinity Assembly arose out of the Pentecostal revival movement of the last century. In its early days, Trinity was pastored by Reverend John McCambridge, a radio pastor on old station WJSV.

  • 1935 - Reverend H. A. Nunley and the congregation become affiliated with the Assemblies of God. They would later move from the building at 505 L Street to a new property at 916 F Street N. E. Washington, D.C.
  • 1950 - Pastor Nunley then led the growing congregation to the 12th and Rhode Island Avenue, N.E. address.
  • 1966 -  The church purchased land at 6705 Good Luck Road to construct a new church building. During this period of transition, the Reverend Frank C. Mays was called to the pastor the Assembly. During his tenure, Trinity was able to fully pay for the building of the beautiful church edifice located there.
  • 1976 - About 50 members of the congregation began a new church in the neighboring city of Bowie, sending their youth pastor, Reverend Ken Burtram, to guide this nucleus which is now a flourishing congregation.
  • 1976 -  Reverend William K. Ferguson began pastoring at Trinity Assembly of God.
  • 1978 - The congregation purchased approximately 22 acres of land at 7800 Good Luck Road.
  • 1986 - Construction of the gym and Sunday school rooms was completed. The gym was used as the sanctuary.
  • 1991 - Pastor Ferguson broke ground for the new sanctuary.
  • 1992 - The Trinity family moved into the lovely, spacious Phase II sanctuary.
  • 2006 -Trinity was able to make their final final mortgage payment on the facility.

Today, God has graciously entrusted our Trinity family with a large, debt-free facility only 7 miles from Washington, DC. Now our greatest work is yet to come. We wish to be Christ’s witness to our community through outreach and to our world through missions.  In this process, we have become an INTERNATIONAL church with members from five continents and more than twenty-five nations.

+Membership

Church membership is a way of officially identifying oneself with a local body of believers. It is a statement that we are in partnership to work to obey Christ's commands together. You join in Trinity's long-term effort to fulfill the Great Commandments (Mark 12:28-31) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) in northern Prince George county and around the world.

Contact our secretary, Martha Bell, if you are interested in becoming a member of Trinity. It involves meeting with our senior pastor for about five weeks, to go over some key components of our church's teaching and vision.

+Baptism or dedication

Jesus commanded that those who are believe in him receive baptism in water (Matthew 28:19) If you can understand your need for forgiveness through Christ, you are eligible for water baptism.

We as a church community also value standing with parents in dedicating their child. This allows us as a church to join in prayer and recognition that we should partner withthe parents as the parents nurture their child in the chastening and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)

If you wish to receive water baptism, or you wish to dedicate your child to the Lord, contact us by clicking here.
